AH News Bangladesh_revised colors2Pages-from-Situation-Analysis-Brief_ASRH-in-Bangladesh_6.22.16What are the most effective ways to meet the sexual and reproductive health needs of adolescents in Bangladesh? The Evidence Project/Population Council, in partnership with the Directorate General of Family Planning and with funding from USAID, is helping to answer that question and build the evidence base for effective ASRH programming in Bangladesh.

Findings and recommendations from a situational analysis of ASRH programs are summarized the brief, “Adolescents in Bangladesh: Programmatic Approaches to Sexual and Reproductive Health Education and Services,” with a full report forthcoming. Another study, currently underway, is looking at the usability and acceptability of the Adolescent Friendly Health Corners (AFHCs) recently opened by DGFP in selected existing health facilities.

The Evidence Project is also supporting coordination of ASRH efforts by co-organizing National ASRH Networking Forum meetings and producing an Adolescent Health Newsletter. Finally, the Evidence Project is providing technical support to the government for the development of the National Health Strategy for Adolescents and an adolescent health website.
