Vicky Boydell, Senior Rights and Accountability Advisor, the Evidence Project/IPPF, is a 2016 winner of 120 Under 40: The New Generation of Family Planning Leaders.

120 Under 40 – led by the Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, with support from Bayer – recognizes the achievements of the next generation of family planning leaders worldwide. The project highlights the “positive disruptions” made by these young family planning leaders, and raises awareness of the importance of family planning in the lives of young people around the globe. The celebrations of this year’s winners conclude on World Contraception Day, September 26, 2016.

120-Under-40-with-logoVicky was nominated for her cutting-edge research on social accountability for improving FP service delivery and the impact of rights-based family planning approaches on service and individual-level outcomes. In her role on the Evidence Project, Vicky is using implementation science to ensure research findings have real-world application. This includes looking at how community-led monitoring can address issues in contraceptive delivery and clients’ full, free and informed choice. She is also working with Evidence Project colleagues and partners to test an innovative, facility-based tool that measures readiness to implement rights-based family planning, including identifying areas where there are potential rights vulnerabilities that can be addressed.

We are proud to have Vicky as part of our team, and delighted that her achievements are being recognized!
